About Us

Welcome to CITY Lab, where we are dedicated to understanding and addressing youth suicidality. Our research focuses on identifying effective mental health treatment engagement strategies for youth of color who are at risk of suicide.

Our Vision

Identify resources and avenues for marginalized youth who are at risk for suicide to receive mental health treatment.

Our Mission

  1. Examine factors related to engagement in mental health treatment for marginalized youth to prevent suicide and to adequately respond to suicide behavior when it occurs.

  2. Identify contextual factors that affect mental health and attitudes toward treatment among marginalized youth (e.g., discrimination, identity socialization and development, cultural values, etc.) and generate strengths-based tools for mental health.

  3. Develop and refine empirically-supported treatments for suicide
